Is Microtech Ram Lock good enough? Yeah, but just. Amphibian, Stitch and MSI action assessed

These are the early days of the Ram Lok. I’m sure Microtech is working as we speak to improve it, regardless of the great sales numbers. At least I hope they are because the improvement is sorely needed. There’s no way anyone should have to pay more than $300 for a knife that’s not a 10 out of 10. What don’t he community think?

I don’t believe for a second that all 3 knives failed with one hit. I have these knives and yes some people have issues with the ram lock…. But not like that

Im glad you tested the dlc auto stitch, thats the one i have 😂, i havnt gotten a ram lok micro yet, been tempted for the msi a bunch of times, just havnt done it. Just got the spyderco yojumbo though. Its awsome! Kinda big, but just big enough I’d say, subbed!

Those locks were not fully engaged, leaving out the fact that they were manipulated by the left index finger slightly off camera.

I own all three of them don’t have that issue.

But good video though. 👍🏼

No comment on microtech heat treatment? Ive seen they keep all their expensive steels soft.
An as far as benchmade i will never give money to a company that donates to gun grabbers.
Both companies are overpriced

I wonder if they need a tougher spring for the locks retention or if it’s a lock face issue. The “bar” itself seems like it would be more stable that the typical axis lock so they must have missed something silly 😂

I have the Ram Lock Stitch and I tested mine quite a lot harder than you where checking those 3. I actually had no issues at all. I’m not saying I don’t believe that they are failing, but are you giving them any time to break in. Maybe I just got lucky with the one I got, because I did check it lightly the first day I got it. I’m looking forward to the full review of the Amphibian and the Stitch. I already watch the MSI videos you did and I’m loving the content keep up the great work 👍🏼…

I get that the ram lock doesn’t handle, reverse blade impacts, but it’s also needs to be said, Folders aren’t ment to baton. They have special locks with pins for that kind of action. This is an improper use of equipment. I’ve used my stitch and MSI fine for over a year, but I’m not using it as a striking tool. Good video other than that boss keep it up

That's crazy, I saw the amphibian the other day and loved the design, but after seeing this I won't be touching it.

I have knives like the Ontario rat 1 which cost a fraction of the price and the lock would never fail, if you pay 300+ for a knife (even more since I'm in Europe) then the least of your worries should be the locking mechanism.
