I feel like a lot of people outside the UK don't realise Jamie Oliver's whole thing is making things simple and palatable for a UK audience. Also he's known for making up recipes that you can make with what you have in the house. It's the total opposite of purist cooking, it is 'let's make something tasty out what you have access to' cooking. If you want traditional purity you have to go to Gordon Ramsay, he was trained that way. Jamie weren't. He was trained by old Italian man who basically did the same thing.
