Emir was a brilliant mind who was carrying deep childhood trauma, growing up without his mother for who he was taught to believe that was a cheater and a child abandoner. Moreover he was raised by a lunatic, narcissistic father who actually gave him little space to grow up in a healthy way, while he decorated his poor mental health with money and the illusion of even God's power. He was raised to believe he could own anything....but himself. He was raised to believe that he could do anything to gain anything he wanted, facing no consequences because of his last name, which unevitably he used in evil ways. He himself didn't actually believe he was worthy of anything real good and pure. In Back in his early childhood, he portrayed Nihan as an alternative, ideal, maternal figure, and so he tied himself around this illusion of so called love for her, because Nihan, except from an exceptional beauty, was a pure, fair, deep loving and innocent person. For Emir, Nihan was a living painkiller, or lets say a living drug, which helped him get distracted from his illness, while it was reminding him of what was good and pure in the world. It was like a chemical reaction that he thought was keeping him sane, while in reality was driving him even more insane, little by little. So, that wasn't love, but an obsessive addiction of a mentally ill person, which could only lead to his own death at the end as well, if not prevented. It was a terrible side effect of a mental disorder and a cry for help from a trapped in static child, who had never experienced healthy family love. There are so many things to say, analyzing this main character. There wouldnt be this show without Emir. It was mainly Emir who made Kara Sevda the show it was.

So, I have to say that I really adored the way Kaan Urgancıoğlu portrayed Emir. It was epic. Iconic. Urgancıoğlu managed to brought all 100% of Emir on the surface. Not to mention that this show was actually about the life story and great karma lessons between Kemal and Emir rather than anything else. You could easily trace this especially after Kemal's prison period. For Kemal loving Nihan was already in a toxic environment to begin with. Her mother was already a problem, even without Emir. So, from a point, this whole story turned to a personal vendetta for Emir and Kemal, holding Nihan like an another Helen of Troy, like she was the reason of their deadly battle, when she, in reality, was just the string who attached both of them to their own path of life's lesson. For me, the real leading characters were Kemal and Emir. Burak Özçivit and Kaan Urgancıoğlu are really really great actors.

The whole show was inanilmaz, giving life lessons to many types of existing characters out there. A legendary TV show in all ways. Tebrikkler to everyone who took part in this.
