Fun fact, this is about a girl Billie Joe Armstrong knew who he liked but who lived in Minnesota while he lived in California. He wrote the song because he wanted to see her, but she was too far away. That girl was Adrienne Nesser, now known as Adrienne Armstrong, Billie Joe’s wife, who he is still married to this day, with two sons.

I met a girl one year ago today at my job. I liked her instantly. She was charismatic, funny, sweet, and helpful.
