Follow step-by-step instructions on managing locations with device codes on Square Register.

TRANSCRIPT

Device codes let you and your employees log in to Square Register without using an email and password, and can pair your Square Register to a specific location, allowing for device-level reporting.

To create a device code, go to Account and Settings in your Square Dashboard, then click Devices. Click Create Device. Enter a nickname for your Square Register, select a location, and click Create. You can send your code via email or text message, or just write it down.

On the sign-in screen of your Square Register, tap Use a device code and enter the code.

The device status in your Dashboard should now say Active.

Does iPad have to have cellular to make a payment? I want to know how it works without cellular. I just ordered stand for my dad’s bday.

This seems out of date... I don't see this same menu structure Online (with a Desktop) nor within the iPad app... please remove this video if it's no longer valid... I finally did figure this out, but your interface is different now, and you should delete this video and post an updated one.
