UAC is one of the most important components of Windows. I don't understand why people hated Vista because it had this new feature. I know it was a bit overwhelming, but it was highly essential to stop the rogue programs from running in the background and I don't see this as a valid reason to hate Windows Vista.

Fun fact: in Windows Vista beta 2 build 5456 to 5466, it used Windows XP critical stop sound as the UAC sound

I totally forgot about the Windows 8 sound for this! Took me back a bit, that was the best one of the lot

I also noticed the change of the shield icon. In Windows Vista, it followed the windows logo with four colors. In Windows 7 it changed to yellow and blue.

UAC is the best thing since sliced bread! I love being able to stop those sneaky background installs in their tracks 🤣

Fun fact: Windows Vista-7 screenshotted the screen and set it as a background in the UAC screen to imitate seamless experience

I am in love with windows 8.1 uac because it sounds a lot more alertive and kinda has a more serious sound effect vibe then any other windows os uac prompt and it's prompt dialog, icon, image, and description is more accurate then windows 10 and 11 because it says do you want to allow this program to make, instead of do you want this app, i love how it shows a color type and icon lookin shield type based on iconic warning and error x symbols to give an threat level and sometimes will even choose to not display the apps icon if the app could be hostile, windows 8.1 and windows 10 will always be my most favorite os especially 8.1, my first ever personal computer i got when icwas jn 4th grade was an windows 8.1 hp laptop i had soo much fun and love with it, just messing with the system sounds and more0:35 ❤

The UAC is the same as Light mode's; what was played was Windows Foreground. I know that they sound the same, but UAC is never reverberated

Vista's UAC was annoying because of how often it appeared, Windows 10's one was annoying due to its sound.

UAC has more dialog messages. Sometimes "Continue", "Allow" [Windows Vista], "Yes or No"
