This song was originally performed by Olivia Newton-John in the film version of Grease. It received an Oscar nomination as Best Original Song.

Just a little trivia:
Halfway through shooting the movie, Newton-John's contractually-entitled vocal solo had still not been written. Farrar, Newton-John's personal producer, wrote the song and submitted it to the film's production team. Though reluctant at first, they eventually approved it; shooting and recording took place after the rest of the film had been completed.

This is already May 2024...and yet this song still brings tears to my eyes whenever i listen to it. One of the most beautiful & heartfelt song ever sung & the way she delivered it with that stunning voice still gives many of us goosebumps; it is so captivating... the emotions she evoked & the way she expressed them on this hit is really phenomenal...oh dear God...plz let her RIP.. i can still see her singing this with all her heart on one of the most touching & most heartfelt scene on Grease when she expresses how much she keeps loving him, even after how heartlessly she was brushed off, ignored & left by Dannie Zuko in favor of his T-birds friends...RIP Olivia...
