Here is a quick guide on how to recalibrate the modules on the ASTRO Gaming C40 TR Controller. This process should be performed each time after swapping, moving, or replacing the C40 TR's modules, and is necessary to avoid stick drift, unintended activations, or unresponsive modules.

I've went through an elite 1, two elite 2s, and a scuff vantage. None of them held up like the Astro c40 TR. This is by fay my favorite pro controller. I'm looking forward to see what Astro does next in the pro controller scene, I'll definitely be buying whatever their next controller is!

Ive only had one issue and it just happened yesterday. The right joystick caused the fps screen to spin 360 for a few seconds like it just went haywire. I'm thinking it happened after pressing down on r3.

I still have terrible drift. I did exactly what you said i got both vibrations but no luck.

I also tried soft reset, hard reset, different thumb sticks, updated firmware, literally every possible thing i could do nothing worked. If anyone knows something else that can help let me know please

I've had the controller for about 10 weeks and now both sticks are drifting. The second one took about 3 weeks after I swapped their positions. I loaded the app, tried the recalibration technique, reset profiles, tried switching to wireless, etc and they are still drifting and spinning in place.

I noticed in the app that the drift is basically at 2 bars. When you go to unscrew and screw the faceplate, it is constantly sensitive to the tension and will cause several bars of drift.

I honestly feel this faceplate issue, given the loose nature of the modules, is an unknown issue and could possibly be resolved by adding extra stabilizer screws to the stick modules themselves.

I also noticed that the electrode contacts on the sticks, on the actual controller, now have streak lines around several of them. That looks like an electrical issue to me. Maybe it's pressure, not sure.

Literally just got it working after months of not playing it to find I never even aligned the red lines of the modules and thought the controller was faulty

I mean this in the most complimetary way, you sound like the guy in Rick and Morty who does the commercials on interdimensional cable

I Love this controller, stick drift is common for every controller. Once I wear out my sticks whatever side begins to have un-re settable stick drift I swap a new module, way better than having to buy a new PS4 controller. Personally I use BattleBeaverCustoms extreme tension

Very very disappointed, I love the controller but I only had it for 4 months and it’s no longer working. I’m upset because it’s a expensive controller and for that price should be almost bullets proof for about a year and half. Good thing I paid extra for insurance on it! But seriously. I might not buy another product from Astro in the future.

The stick drift on these modules is such a problem. I really anticipated and love the controller, but I literally have 6 dead analogue sticks sitting around. Recalibrated them according to the instructions, even using the application, and they still don’t work. They only have a 3 month warranty, which kinda feels like robbery considering what the controller costs and the fact that I purchased 6 spares kinda shows my dedication to the product. I work in tech support and yeah, it’s a physical issue, not a software one. It’s still a great controller when it works, and I’d recommend it to people... just be prepared to buy like ten extra sticks too.

BEWARE OF STICK DRIFT

It doesn’t happen to every controller but it happens to a lot of them, used mine for 5 months or so one day I was bored and decided to play around with the stick placement and ever since I did that one of the modules as about a 20% drift, I’ve fixed it the best I can by:

Cleaning the module ports

Resetting the controller,

Recalibration

Playing with the sensitivity settings in the command centre.

I know these will only be a temporary fix

I also want to say I love this controller it does most certainly improve your gameplay I love the controller so much I don’t think I can go back to duel shock that being said I had to ordered 2 high tension modules from battle beaver to replace the stock modules. After 5 months of hard gaming I’ve experience no trigger or button ware other then one stick drift very disappointed but I still love the controller and will continue to use it

Beware of stick drift, if you are experiencing try what I’ve tried to best remedy it.

Good news is if your still under warranty Astro will send you replacement modules or you can order your own replacements for under $30

Your not the only one with stick drift out there

I've had stick drift for a couple of years now with my Astro. An easy solution i've found to fixing this problem by following three steps -->

And they are:

Buy a Scuf

Sell your Astro online as "The best controller ever!"

Never have stick drift again.
