Anomos: In Desolation (Official Video)

Показать описание
The main single from our upcoming album "Triumvirate", released on March 14th, 2025.
In Desolation is an exploration of apocalyptic nihilism, the song conveys absolute despair and inevitability with an unrelentingly bleak tone with no moments of hope or redemption. This creates a suffocating atmosphere of desolation. The driving theme is that destruction is universal and unavoidable. The main themes in the song are of total annihilation, famine and cannibalism, fire and ashes, nature’s collapse and finally despair and acceptance of darkness – the song makes play with our innate and primordial fear about the end times and apocalypse, which continues to be relevant today.
The song is heavily influenced by Lord Byron’s poem “Darkness” which was written 1816, the year without a summer, brought about by the eruption of Mount Tambora. This caused a short term volcanic winter and range of environmental effects which were felt around the globe including low temperatures, wide spread crop failures, famine, food riots and general discontent. The events resembled to some at the time, signs of the biblical apocalypse. The poem explores the dark and apocalyptic mood created by this phenomenon.
