In 1966 I got my first car a 1955 English Ford Anglia. Bought it from a friends sister for $6.00 and paid for it in two $3.00 payments. One night I loaned it to the future husband of the girl I bought it from and he blew it up and I bought a second one a 1957 from my neighbor for $50.00 and used the engine from it in mine. My neighbors was right hand drive and thats the one I should have kept. Later on I sold the first one to the future husband of the girl I bought it from. Later on he blew it up again and he sold it for scrap. Over the years we had several more. At the point we had two that ran, but one had a broken windshield, so we took turns using the windshied between the two cars. They were easy to remove and reinstall. We also worked on one for a lady from S.F. Hers was a station wagon and the flathead engine had been hopped up with a special head that had the intake valves in the head, but the exhaust valves were still in the block. It had dual carbs that mounted on the head and it had headers and a 4 speed tranny and a posi rearend. We took it for a test drive and just for fun we backed into the neighborhood cops long driveway and did a nice burnout.
