Q: Why don't i have a gameconfig?
A: Make sure you verify your game cache just in case some of the files are missing. Also double check you are on the correct drive and looking into the correct game you are using the sdk for. Another possible problem is that the game is installed in another folder.

Q: Can you upload the gameconfig?
A: I might not have the specific game you need the config for.

Q: Does it work for non-steam?
A: I have never tried it on a non-steam version so i would not be the one to ask for help in that case.

Thanks! I recently reinstalled Windows, so my drive letter changed. I thought that might have had something to do with it, but had no idea how to point Hammer back in the right direction.

when i was checking the files for the recording it said this when i tried to open the file - setup file gameinfo.txt doesnt exist in subdirectory hl2, check your game parameter or VCONFIG setting

tf2 sdk requires gameinfo in Team Fortress 2/tf directory which doesn't have any paths or hammer settings

Hey hello, can i ask something? i just wanted to add a new "Game" source where Hammer will read my own custom models to add them later, and IT IS WORKING. BUT when i launch CSGO it crashes. I veryfied that it doesnt want me to modify Gameconfig. But there is the thing, i am adding models from L4D which requires to have same Directors to work fine, but i cannot do it without modifying CSGO Gameconfig. So, i dont know what to do now. Can u help me please?

i dont even have a gameconfig to open up. all my drivers are up to date, game is up to date. tried reinstalling the game and even steam. anytime i open the screen turns black and closes, no error report or anything lol. what should i do if im missing the gameconfig?

i cant open hammmer in gmod just because i changed it to the chromium version and then the official branch and then moved gmod to another disk and then when i tried using this video i cant open hammer
