Hope for Cancer Patients | Prof. Isa Marte | TEDxShehuri

Prof. Isah Hussaini Marte is a Nigerian professor of pharmacology and fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science, inducted into the academy in 2013. He specializes in cancer research and is currently exploring the use of local herbs for cancer therapy. His recent breakthrough on cancer treatment has gained applause from all over the world after successful trials. In his TED Talk "Hope for Cancer Patients" he shares his experience working on cancer cells over the years and gives hope for people living with cancer. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Nigerian Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences. Professor Isa Marte Hussaini was the substantive Dean of Pharmacy and Professor of
Pharmacology in the University of Maiduguri and is an Indigene of Borno State of Nigeria. Under his
leadership, the Pharmacy programme at the University of Maiduguri was accredited by the National
Universities Commission (NUC) and Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN). Professor Hussaini
graduated from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria with a BSc
degree (Pharmacy; Second Class Upper Division). He obtained MSc (Chelsea College) and PhD
(King’s College) degrees in Pharmacology from the University of London UK. He was a tenured
Associate Professor at University of Virginia and a member of the Pharmacology, Pathology,
