How to improve radio signal strength

A quick tip on how to increase radio signal receptivity strength,
I have stumbled upon this problem, of having low signal strength in my antenna radio. and noticed, that mostly people show how to overcome this problem by attaching a wire to the radio, and then putting it outside,, which seems like quite a hassle to me,
I found this way much simpler and quicker.. though it is not perfect, it still enhances the signal strength quite a lot. and overall I prefer this method as it is so much simpler and quicker..

Thanks for watching,
I hope you liked the video.
and I hope this method helped you.

LOL!!! This is old school technology. We used this exact same trick for 50"s & 60's B&W TV reception. A lot depends on the antenna location, but I have seen this technique work. Thanks for the share. Brought back many fond memories.

It worked for my radio based watches. I had to hold them outside of the window for about 10-15 minutes, but after watching this video, I made a twofold 2 foot long aluminum foil strip, tapered one end, put one watch around the tapered end, put some weight so they don't fall off and placed about 3/4 of the strip hanging outside of the window. The experiment worked! Although, the signal strength improved whenever the strip would hoist with the wind. So, maybe I will have to improvise with a wire making it bend upward to catch as much signal as possible. Having the watches synced up was a big pain, as I have four of them, and I couldn't find signal amplifier anywhere after months of searching. Thanks!

This totally just worked right now. It's an old Sony boom box. I get FM and AM signal. 😊 Thanks

The telescopic antennas on portable FM radios are usually too short. Adding a conductor to the end to increase the length will usually improve reception. As long as it's metal and connected to the antenna end it'll work. Any total length greater than about 2'6" will not bring any further benefits.

Perhaps for FM reception, this works ! But what about AM reception from 500Khz to 30Mhz What do you propose to make stations reception better on those frequencies, eh

So I happen to have a Sony radio at work. It have a FM Antenna wire but the signal it's not good unless it goes near a window. But however my office is moved to another room and no window. Is there any suggestions I can do? With the iluminan file? It's just like a Wire but I had paste a tape on it before on the window

Will it work on DAB+, and would it improve the reception to receive AM stereo?

Would have been better to use the foil to make a hat.

Sorry but I dont belive any of this.Either for AM or FM, adding a short lenght of copper wire to the end of the telescopic antenna is all you need to increase the signal.
