I have worked on my families farm for nearly 20 years now. The fact that so many of you are in an uproar at supporting your own local food sources is depressing to say the least. You will start paying more money for less quality products after we have to import more food when these farms that are struggling go under. The importation of Brazilian beef has been an issue for American ranchers for years. 5 years ago citrus from China introduced a bug that causes citrus greening disease to citrus trees of all kinds and the Florida orange groves are being decimated along with our South Georgia lemons, limes, and satsumas. China stopped buying US soybeans in the trade war. A shipment of meat from China tested positive for swine flu a couple weeks ago. Aside from importation issues, not supporting this stimulus means more small farmers go bankrupt. Corporate farms that people seem to hate will get bigger after they absorb the land no longer owned by small farms. People will undoubtedly complain about that when it happens (though most of our processed foods come from those massive “quantity over quality” farms).

Please buy local or stop buying Chinese at least.

Many farmers are having to throw out food due to the buisness closures. They are down 65 - 75 % ! What a waste.
