McDONNELL / DOUGLAS F-18 HORNET . WHAT IF ??? F-18 Ferris scheme 1:48 . MONOGRAM (?)

I love this plane , she is my oldest ,at 35 years , she has moved house 3 times with us and I wouldn't lose her for the world .(Must be love .........) an old MONOGRAM ( even ESCI ?) kit , not greatly detailed , raised panel lines , but good shape and size . She needed a re-paint so , being fascinated by the Ferris / Heater schemes I thought WHAT IF ? WHY NOT ?? Based on a Tomcat scheme , I like the way the dark markings wrap around the nose giving it a rather Crocodilian look .Decals by Repli Scale ., painted by brush . Base is just a margarine tub , with a wire coathanger section , looped inside it , then filled with plaster , other end plugs into a styrene tube in the plane .......simples ! I gave away a load of 1:48 fighter jets when we moved last time ..........but she's still here 😍😍😍😍

Unbelievable that it's that old! I built many many models as a kid but none of them survived :(
