The breath of Gaia: NASA's Aqua satellite monitors the amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. This time-lapse animation shows the cyclic nature of CO2 airborne levels and the seasonal vegetation that traps it.

I stared at my carpet and thought that it moved up at down and then I searched " does the world breathe? " and now i'm here

Awesome, great to finally see a video of the natural co2 emissions of earth

Ten year old video, still awesome. Why doesn't it have more "likes"? I just learned about it from the book "Reality Blind, Vol. 1" by Nate Hagens and DJ White, as a footnote in the chapter on ecology and energy.

Ever heard of the Ozone layer? That has nothing to do with CO2 but it plays a massive roll in the environment. P.S. the same mass of methane and carbon dioxide were introduced into the atmosphere, that methane will trap 72 times more heat than the carbon dioxide over the next 20 years

the real key to helping the climate is simple. Plant more plants because plants turn both carbon dioxide and monoxide into oxygen when they, make their food.

this was the breath of the biosphere not the earth breathing, what happens when it does a number 2?

sadly as it is he is right, the suns activity is the main influence on the global warming. i don't know if u knew it but greenland was green when it has gotten its name. there was no industrial polution back than and all the ice was melted. co2 is as natural as oxigen is. burning stuff is something totaly normal here on earth. in fact, oil is made from plants which someday consumed more co2 than burning will emit. we've learned about both sides of the daim in school.

now that statement I totally agree with!! Yea why don't other people realize that adding gas into the atmosphere should have some sort of effect

just so you know, according to your statement if humans didn't exist there would be no greenhouse effect. which is very wrong, humans do speed it up, but not all of the co2 is reabsorbed by forests. some of it goes out into space as well. and with deforestation we will be seeing less and less of that being absorbed

I have a little experiment for you, get an old fashioned scale and put 6 kg on one side and 6 kg on the other. Now add 1 kg more to one side, it doesn't matter how much was there before when it was in balance, it matters when it starts to tip because of the little bit of difference. Now I have a second experiment for you, try and figure out what that can be applied to...

I'm surprised you can be this ignorant in the modern society in which we live, yes, it's true that oceans put out so much CO2, but nearly all CO2 that animals and oceans create are compensated for by forests, the problem appears when humanity creates CO2as well, then it becomes too much for the earth to handle, and the greenhouse effect appears. It may not be a large percentage, but it is still a lot, and cutting down forests also contributes to the effect since trees can create O2 from CO2.

I see that you have now commented this video approximately 30 times and you have gotten even more replies, I'm not sure if you are trolling or something, but I have now reached a point where I will not even try to explain again why you are wrong, good bye.
