Denmark issues first coin with King Frederik's portrait
Denmark’s Central Bank issues on Oct. 31, 2024 its first coins bearing the portrait of King Frederik X, who ascended to the throne in January after the surprise abdication of his mother, Queen Margrethe II in her new year’s eve speech. The commemorative 20 crown coin is engraved with the portrait of King Frederik X on one side and Queen Margrethe on the other. Around one million of the coins will be put into circulation and they will also be available for purchase to members of the public.
