Please stop analysing India and get your facts right. The British took over India from Maratha Empire. Aurangzeb died in 1707. Maratha' fought 3 wars with the British. The British lost the 1st war and then won the 2nd and 3rd.
The British then fought 3 wars with Sikh Empire.
