As of June 2021, the Jolion is now the 5th best-selling passenger car in South Africa! And Haval has overtaken Nissan in the month-to-month sales rankings. It's an incredible success story, especially for a Chinese brand in our market.

Quite simply, this Chinese SUV is turning the market upside down, and destroying the notion of market segments. You can get into a Jolion for R299,000, far less than even a mid-spect Polo. And a top spect Jolion, at just under R400,000, blows absolutely everything in its price range out of the water, in terms of luxury and tech.

I feel that as South Africans, we have been conditioned to think that R400, 000 for example is too little for a great car with many features. But it is simply not the case. It just goes to show how overpriced everything else is and how we are being ripped off. At those prices you are getting ugly things with little features like the Creta and T Cross and what have you. The other manufacturers should run scared because Haval has proven how the rest of them are taking us for a ride. Even a Picanto these days starts at R200k. It is ridiculous. The cheapest Mercedes or BMW starts at R600k and they have shitty halogen headlights, ugly wheels, tiny tiny screens not bigger than a cellphone screen and absolutely zero features. There is no point to the premium brands anymore.

Hi there, great car indeed! 4 comments. 1. The fuel consumption is horrendous the first 2000 kms, then it drops dramatically. 2. You mention that you cannot reduce the volume other than via the steering wheel controls...wrong! :), swipe the screen from far left to the right, a menu pops up and you can adjust the volume as well as other sound features and other settings. 3. As for the irritating beeps and sounds, ALL can be switched off whilst still getting either visual or vibration warnings. I have never had a vehicle with so many adjustment possibilities. 4. If you press the "OK" button on the steering wheel for 3 seconds, it goes into numerous other settings such as fuel consumption, trip meter etc. GREAT CAR OVERALL !!!! The best value money can buy!!!!

he missed out an important feature, swipe the screen left to right & you can instantly change driving modes, turn on heated seats, adjust volume, bluetooth & much more

If this brand can prove to be reliable like a Honda and Toyota, I can guarantee Haval will take over the vehicle segment just like Huawei did in the phone segment

I’ve had a Jolion for 3 months now and the fuel consumption is dropping each month. I’m at 10.8L.
I’m very happy and impressed with this car

When I first saw this car, I thought it would sell for around 500k, so at 400k, it’s a good choice for those ppl not interested in “badge snob value” and gentle on the accelerator.

Fuel consumption on highway at speeds between 115 and 125km/h I managed to get 7.2l, /100Km. Not too bad at all. Car still under 2000km.

Bought one in the weekend and absolutely love it. Very comfy, loads of tech/kit. feels pretty well put together. All in all very happy! Happy to answer any questions people may have. I'm also pretty objective. I get its cheaper than the competitors and may not be as refined but our budget suited this. A lot of car for the money.
