Erica Garner Talks about Justice for Her Father Eric Garner

In Part 2 of our interview, Erica Garner talks about why she lost hope for justice in her father’s case and why Black Lives Matter supporters need to rally in Election 2016.

It's been nearly two years since Eric Garner died as the result of a police chokehold during an arrest in New York City.

A grand jury decided not to indict the officers involved in his death, and his family reached a settlement of $5.9 million dollars in a wrongful death suit.

Although a federal grand jury has started to hear evidence in Eric Garner's case, his eldest daughter, Erica Garner, says she has no hope for justice.

"I lost hope a long time ago," she says.

In the wake of her father's death, Garner has become an activist, most recently sharing a powerful video endorsement of Senator Bernie Sanders’ campaign for President.
