I have always loved this beautiful tune. There is an arrangement by Fred Harz that I have used as a base for my arrangement. I added a modulation into A-Major and changed many things, including rhythms and harmonies. Thanks to Fred Harz for inspiring me.
On this foggy day in Copenhagen I thought it was perfect to record it.
"Londonderry Air" is a tune that originated from County Londonderry in Ireland (now Northern Ireland). It is popular among the Irish and is also very well known throughout the world. The songs "Danny Boy" and "We Are Not Alone" uses the same tune, with a set of different lyrics. The tune is played as the victory anthem of Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games.

I just this now bought the score. Thanks so much! I listened to so many guitar interpretations, and this one captures the feeling of the song. A woman is lamenting that she will never see her son again, as he has sailed to the US, hoping for a better life. Anybody of Irish ancestry in America had an ancestor drop the proverbial "O" in the ocean. That the de facto national anthem of Ireland is about a mother's sorrow is so Irish.
