Russia-backed separatist leaders in Eastern Ukraine say civilians in the Donbass region continue to be evacuated to Russia as shelling intensifies
Multiple explosions were reportedly heard in the city of Donetsk.

Separatists have been saying since 2014 when the war started that the Ukranian Army places its artillery between civilian houses hoping that separatists won't open return fire on civilians. All this territory, the one that separatists control and that Ukranian army controls called "Donbass". So many family of separatists live on the territory controled by Ukranian army, as you can see from this footage they all speak Russian, they are all Russian "Donbass" people, not like the Ukranians living in Central and Western Ukraine. People liveing in Central and Western Ukraine mostly speak Ukranian, some Hungarian, Russian and even Polish languages. And that is why separatists will never open fire on those civilians. I mean when they kill some civilan on Ukranian side they can be killing their own mother, brother, father, sister, grandparents. Foreign reporters should learn some history of places where they making their reports.

This is the consequence of the betrayal of a gentleman's agreement back in the days of the disintegration of the Soviet Union. Steadily NATO has been advancing eastwards without any other consideration. Today is a sad day for a broken word given long ago. Maybe there are no longer any gentleman in the west anymore.

Why isn't the Ukrainian government evacuating these civilians on their side?

I would ask the Ukraine government to defer joining nato for one year and for Russia to then agree to hold any threat of war for one year, I hope that this year will give everyone a chance to calm down and come to some sort of compromise

I still don’t understand what is going on. In summary I think there’s a territorial dispute that is a unsettled issue of the Soviet union collapse. I don’t understand how NATO plays any roll here. Why would a country want to join NATO? If you ask the average American on the street, they would want the United States out of NATO. I know I’m just ignorant of many things but I’m not sure who gets to draw the maps. Which group of separatist deserve military support and which ones need to be suppressed. I simply do not understand.
