This video shows you how to fix the issue of your cursor pack resetting back to the default Windows one after restarting your computer. The steps are below:

1. Locate the folder of your custom cursors wherever you have it downloaded.

2. Move it to Local Disk (C:) - Windows - Cursors.

3. Go to Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Mouse - Pointers.

4. Click ‘OK’ for each message that pops up saying the cursor pack was moved. Reassign each custom cursor to its proper one and save the cursor scheme.

Now, you will no longer see the standard Windows cursor when you reboot. It will remain as your custom one!

Great tutorial, but even greater tutorial stereotypes! The music, the chair, the 'umm's and background, the BandiCam logo... It's all so perfect! This plays like a memory.
Thank you IceCreamJunkie

The music, the background noise, and the mic quality make it seem like a parody. Love it. xD

One critical thing you did not mention was that the cursor file names cannot have spaces in them! They won't show up in the windows cursors folder until any spaces are removed from the names. If you downloaded files with spaces in the names just rename using underscores instead. Then the files can be copied over without any trouble.

Finally, a real solution. So many others that didn't work, and yours is simple and straightforward. And, as someone else said, you get right to the point without all of the other dialog so many others have. Thank you!

The problem is actually caused by a bugged HKEY in the registry - if you save your cursors within your personal User folder (eg C:\Users\cloud\myFolder\myCursor.ani), Windows tries to use %UserProfile% rather than an absolute path. This is why things are fine when stored in a user folder (eg C:\Windows\Cursors\ is not in C:\Users\cloud\) and is also fine when storing in another hard disk (eg D:\myCursor.cur)

Another good note! Changing your cursor size in the mouse settings works on custom cursors too, though if they aren't designed for it, they might get pixelated.

Thanks a lot! I have changed my cursor like 30 times and couldn't find any video to fix this, but when I was about to give up I found this.

This is the best way to make a tutorial. Humor all over it and i love it. None of those boring tutorials with no expressions at all. Plus, this helped alot. Thanks!
