Extremely slow copying speeds when copying files from Android to PC ? we all have faced this issue when copying large number of files from or to your smartphone. I'm going to show you the fastest way I found in which you can transfer a large number of files via USB without waiting hundreds of years for it to finish.

Note: We'll be using USB to transfer files not any 3rd party application.

Man, you just saved me from waiting for days to complete the backup-restore. I was totally freaked out before i found this video. Thank you a lot. You deserve subscription from me.

Nice solution! One downside: zip will cost extra storage, about the same as the files you are zipping. So if your storage is already full on your phone you cannot use this zip method.

We are taught your method
For any folder, where no. of files > 250 with avg 15mb ~ 50mb file size
Time takes to zip + Time takes to unzip + Time takes to copy zip file << Time takes to copy folder

Simple but very good solution! I never thought of using zip / unzip. Thank you very much!

If you're using an Android with SD card, simply move/copy everything from internal storage to SD and then eject the SD and insert it in your PC.
If you're using Samsung, you could even connect your Phone to PC, to organize and do everything through Dex before inserting SD into your PC

1. Ensure enough free space (almost double current used) is available.
2. This is good solution for both PC to Phone or Phone to PC copying files.
3. Keep regular cleaning of your unwanted images/videos/files from your phone atleast twice a month.

I was facing similar issue while copying large number of files from Computer -> Android Device.
This solution cut down the time from 5 hrs to just 10 mins. This is so simple yet very effective solution. I wonder why I didn't think of it 😂 Thanks for the solution!

What you forget to mention is it takes forever to make the archive file on a phone. Are there GB's of data in those archive/rar files? I'm dealing with transferring 100 GB of files from my phone and nothing works. 100GB at 450MB tranfer speed should be roughly 4 minutes on USB 3.0. Your video wasn't a fix.

Suprisngly, it works when transfering 5GB+ data from PC to Android, I just organize the data in the order I want and make an archive of them using "Store" opion to save time from PC's end then send it directly to phone through the USB Cable directly to memory card then unzip it again.

Will this preserve time stamp of the archived files?.

I'm going to have to try this out. I was transferring a whole bunch of photos, about 10k files, and it took about 3 to 4 hours to complete.

This is actually very smart, people are hating for no reason. It'll work for my small files, but I still need to find a solution for my large files... my whatsapp images are 8GB and i have less than 1gb available so cant really zip it

Not helpful, I need to move my entire phone data to laptop, doing this method is wasting time and ton of work

Most of the time you want to copy your files because there is no more free space on the phone. Thus no way to put all your 100GB of photos under a single archive file as you need twice of that free space.
