I once tied a pair matting. Used some colored langartum braid for the tail.

Pretty fly! Our damsel type has glossy black wings. Lovely tie.

Hi Davie, too right it looks like them. It's a fantastic tying as per mate. I was at The Lake on Saturday, infact 2 Saturdays in a row and I did mention to my pal that the place was thick with these Blue guys. As usual nothing to represent in my box BUT I did think how the hell would trout nail these things. Didn't think they ate them to be fair. Great fly pal. Thankyou again.

Beautifully tied damsel fly. A great idea to split the foam and do the body separately. As usual, you make it look easy to tie. Good
color to imitate a bluet. Thank you for sharing this foam technique with us Davie.

Brilliant tie Davie, l actually caught a lovely rainbow on a similar one yesterday, the lake was full of blue, brown and red Damsel flies.

What a lovely fly this is. I've seen loads of these at Meon Springs, but i haven't seen a fish eat them. However the Blue Flash Damsel is the go to fly on this lake. I'm going to ty and try one of these, thank you.

Iv tied a similar dry damsel but never got much success on it on my local stocked stillwater..have had great success on a spent version however.

I mind the fad of the 90s was to use a small scrap cutting of braided loop and colour it in but this is night and day compared to that in terms of buoyancy and realism

Hello Davie! Great video. In this moment I'm filling up a box with foam patterns, and I was looking for a nice damsel fly in foam. Great timing. All the best.

I tied a version of one of those a while back, inspired by a beautiful iridescent emerald green dragonfly (as opposed to damsel fly) I saw while hauling some hay (central Texas here). Mine, although pretty, wouldn't survive more than one cast. 🙂 I like yours a lot better because it could actually be fished! Cheers!
