Thank you for the memories. I used to make these with Mom as a kid. There were 6 in my family so we doubled or tripled the recipe. We added corn flakes, sometimes Cheerios or whatever other crispy cereal we had on hand. They were always delicious. Man, that was at least 65 years ago. Think I'll make a batch later today.

I like to send cookies and squares in the mail to family and friends...who wouldn't love a delicious package? These are great because they don't crumble into bits if you wrap them while still slightly warm. The raisins help keep them moist. Thanks for the reminder to make and ship a batch Stephanie!

Made this recipe today and yielded 23 pieces of 3-1/2" diameter delicious cookies. Used quick cooking oats as it is what I have, with crushed walnuts, sweetened shredded coconut, raisins and topped with pecans. I omitted the choco chips and added same amount of raisins. Came out beautiful with sweetness just right, loved it. Recipe for keeps. Thank you.

Stephanie your recipe is similar to mine and is an absolute favorite in my house. When I first started making them I would mix everything by hand. I thought I was an amazon women because the batter is so thick. But then I got my stand mixer and wow it made life easier. I love your addition of honey to the recipe and will incorporate that in my next batch. Once again you nailed it. Thank you.

For extra crunch, add 1/2 cup rice cereal. Love your recipes, everytime I give out your lemon shortbread cookies, they rave about them! Carrie wants a cookie, too
