BMW M2 Competition Stage 1 ECU Software upgrade - 527HP | Tuning Features / Walkthrough

In this Vlog, we run through our Custom Stage 1 ECU Software upgrade on the BMW M2 Competition which runs the S55 Twin Turbo engine. Comparing before and after data logs showing Intake temperatures and boost levels to create the torque curve which we have chosen to run.

With the customer's requirement for a progressive power increase, we opted not to run maximum torque output but to bring the torque in progressively, as the rear-wheel-drive M models can have some spikey moments with large spikey torque delivery! Also being a manual model this is more clutch friendly.

Before carrying out the ECU remap we had to remove the OBD tuning protection which prevents us from flashing via the OBD port. After the protection is removed via a bench flash (direct to ECU) we can start the tuning process!

Standard - 424HP
Stage 1 - 527HP

Fabulous video Warren and and well put together. You have done a fantastic job and really looked after my car and it has been an education to watch the whole process. I’d have traveled from the moon and back just for you to perform this amazing transformation. Just how I wanted it to be. I’m one happy bunny.

Nice video and really nice car with a lot of cool carbon but do you really do a stage 1 without crankhub fix? if so wow really risky

People getting worried for the Crank Hub: If it's such a big concern to make you paranoid don't buy an s55. It means you cannot afford it and eventually repair it. Crank hub is not the only thing that can fail on these engines. Replaced my full valvevotronic and eccentric shaft for almost 2k n half.

I think WG are leading the way in BMW tuning.
If I had the money I'd love them to rebuild my B58 with forged pistons.

Love the vlog, thanks for sharing!

Is it possible to run the map when in the various mdm modes? For example, the standard ~410bhp in normal mode and the full-fat +500bhp when MDM2 is activated?

Would love to have my M2 comp tuned . Im just worried about warranty or any engine damage that tuning might cause ? Does your tuning come with any Warranty ?

How come its making less than stock between 2k and 2.7k? Or is that down to how the run is started.

What's your opinion on the crank hub issue? At a mild tune do you think it's something to worry about? Also heard on cars produced after 7/20 (like my 2021 M2C) have a new DME that is not possible to bench unlock. Can you confirm?

Crazy how stock power is the same as a m2 lci stage 2.
