Monkey Business - The first Amiga Game

Today I am playing 'Monkey Business' - a game programmed by Ron Fortier and that was archived by Stainy and Dlfsilver from the English Amiga Board. It requires Kickstart 1.1 at most to run, but will run on as low as Kickstart 0.7.

This definitely looks like a port. original was probably a monochrome version from another system. the colored barrels and other items look like they were just an easy quick thing to add during the porting. The sound is also hints that the original code was written for something with simple sound chip. on level 2 just walk or jump over the plugs/rivets. you need to clear all of them.

I uploaded the disk scan to the HOL entry today. No idea how it was missed when I dumped it.

You're not going to mention it's clearly running in a high res screen? So it obviously can't be in 32 colour mode.

Only Amiga makes it possible.

I don’t believe at all it was the first Amiga game, its a shame this rumour seems to have stuck and people run with it. The Mac version came out first in 1985, the Amiga port was later, wasn’t reviewed in any Amiga mags until summer 1986 and needed 512k ram, the Amiga 1000 launched with 256k and the first 512k Amiga games only came out in early 1986.
