I second the Fender FR12 and FR10. They look, sound and operate like real amp. I’ve been waiting for someone to build something like this for years. I read 100’s of reviews on FRFR powered amps and PA’s and was totally confused. They kind of snuck by with the introduction of the Tone Master modeler. I use it with my Fractal FM 9. Don’t let the price fool you at under $500. Great value!!

Sounds good. The KOT is two Breaker circuits. The high gain has one different resistor and a different drive pot value to increase gain (I think). If you think it sounds like a Tube Screamer, I wouldn’t argue with your ears. Great tour, thank you

Jeff, you just sounds great and no matter what amp or pedal you use, you just sound like you and i think that’s counts for all of us, i have the greatest amps and pedal on the planet (its started in the eighties and were affordable at the time), and every time i brought a new amp or pedal to the gig my band mates always said, you sound the same so what’s the point, i guess its counts predominately for yourself, great videos as always, greetings from Phuket Thailand

Cool video with heaps of useful tips thanks mate!
Could you do one on using pedals with a totally clean pedal platform amp.
Also how do I know when the live streams are happening and join in?

I must say, and to my surprise, the Wampler is the best sounding drive of them all imo. It seems to maintain a smoother drive, with minimal breakup, at any setting. Nice test!

Hi everyone,
I play bass. Sorry... 😄Most of the times I watch certain guitar channels (like this one for instance) I do learn a bunch.

Like many bassists my age I started out on guitar pedals decades ago. I took them from my guitarplaying band mates to fumble around with for a while.

I’d like to give all of you something back, so here it goes:

Most of you people have way too many drive pedals and that’s both a good and a beautiful thing. But you end up (almost) always sounding the same, not?

Try drive pedals built for bass! I mean those with clean/dry level knobs. Especially when stacking multiple drive pedals one of these will give different but great results!

I wonder Jeff if you’ve ever experienced this. You’re at a soundcheck, you dial in a great tone with your amp and an overdrive pedal. You play the gig and the tone you’re working with sounds amazing. The next day, you plug into the same settings at your house and it is NOT a very pleasant sound…Rather bright and midrangy 😆

You are so right! Whatever a guitarist plugs into……it sounds exactly like themselves. LOL!
