This PS5 Controller Is Better (Here's Why)

Do you want to why some PS5 controllers are more prone to analog stick drift, and issues with the triggers or haptic feedback? In this video, I show you how some older PS5 controllers have an FCC ID that ends in "1" at the end, indicating it was one of the earlier versions of PS5 controllers, which were more likely to have the aforementioned controller issues whereas newer controllers have "A" or "B" at the end.

I literally never had any issues with any of my 4 'old' controllers.

It’s important to remember, that not all old model controllers are gonna be defective, and likewise, not all new model controllers are gonna be flawless. Technology isn’t perfect, and sometimes, it just breaks.

Got a ps5 pro, came with a controller ending in A, also got cobalt blue controller, nice to know these should be more reliable for much longer

My controller ends with a 'B' on FCC ID code, and it had stick drift. Hall effect analogs solved the problem.

My ps5 controller is almost 4years now and I never have an issue with it I always play like 6 times a week 6hours a day. Maybe some people experience it because of how they use it or how hard they pull the stick and triggers also dusty hands. Always remember if you want something to lasts longer take care of it. Just because you’re allowed to mashed it doesn’t mean u wont break it.

It is important to note that stick drift is an unavoidable issue with controllers that utilize traditional potentiometers(it doesnt matter which letter the Controller has). The only way to completely eliminate the risk of stick drift is to install Hall effect or TMR sticks.

I have 2 1A's. I get stick drifts like crazy and even moves on its own without being touched often. Also, older models have stronger materials.

I got 6 p5 controllers. The orginal that doesnt have any letter at the end has held up since launch . All of the the ones ending with A. last about 3 to 6 months. Just got one ending with B. Straight from sony. Ill comment back when it experiences stick drift.

Mine has an A at the end and I’m getting drift on right analogue. 6 months old. On my ps4 pro I’m still using the original I got with it, no issues. These new controllers are disgraceful!

I have a ps5 controller that came with my PS5 and it has the 1 at the end. The controller made it for a year and a half before he stick drift was so bad my characters wouldn't walk. I bought one of the grey ps5 thinking it would be a newer model (it was) and it made it three months before stick drift hit and I can only turn to the right VERY slowly while the character will do 360's turning to the left on its own. I will not buy another dual sense controller, unless it has hall effect sticks.

This is absurd, as I am experiencing the haptic feedback on the left side a lot than the right on the 1B. 😅
