On Wednesday, the queen surpasses Queen Victoria’s reign over a century ago of 63 years and 216 days. The queen decided not to celebrate the milestone privately. She will instead be riding on a steam train in Scotland along a new stretch of railway that she’ll officially declare open. Mark Phillips reports from Newtongrange, Scotland.

The Americans love the monarchy. It's no use pretending otherwise. The best thing to do is rejoin the commonwealth. If you had kept the monarchy there wouldn't have been slavery or genocide of the natives because the British would have given the land a tradditional native name as like Kanada ( real name) because it's their land. A King respects a Chieftain. They are the same. Chief Sitting would be appointed the Governor General. and all the native tribes would be represented in the colonial parliament. Along the way there would have been home rule and eventually independence from the Crown as in India. The ironic thing about the US is it's run on the same lines as a English county council with the presiding officer as a elected head every fourth year.

Aint that funny...?
