Interactive Christmas Lights, Powered By Raspberry Pi

These interactive lights are powered by a Java application running on a Raspberry Pi. Apologies for the poor video quality, it was shot on my phone under less than ideal conditions.

The lights on the four pillars are controlled by four buttons. The pillars act as notes, with the leftmost pillar being the lowest pitch and the rightmost pillar being the highest pitch.

The controller supports multiple instruments (in this video, I have piano and violin set up), and can play songs from wav files and have the lights play along.

When the buttons haven't been touched in a while, a "screen saver" effect activates, which plays various patterns on the pillars.
