Winnemucca Petroglyphs | Were The Oldest Rock Carvings in America Created by Giants?

In June 2018 Hugh Newman and Jj Ainsworth investigated America's oldest petroglyphs near Winnemucca Lake in Nevada and were astonished by the size of them, the deep carvings and complexity of what they saw, and how similar they are to ancient rock art in Ireland and other areas of the ancient world. They are located in the vicinity of legendary red-haired giants and could well have been carved by these prehistoric titans. Researchers at the University of Colorado, Boulder conducted a study that dated the rock carvings to between 10,500 and 14,800 years ago. Larry Benson found that the rocky outcrop was exposed at both these times from the water in the lake so the giant petroglyphs could have been carved during either of these periods. The carvings include the earliest example of 'cup marks' that are also found at Gobekli Tepe in Turkey (9,600 BC). Hugh also discovered something remarkable on the nearby dry lake bed, a huge geoglyph of spiralling circles, that has never before been reported. Please take notice that permission was granted from a Paiute elder at the Pyramid Lake Visitors Centre, who, with his grandson, showed us exactly where the site was and we followed the car to the site.

Did you notice the rocks The petroglyphs are carved on look like at one point they were all big elongated round smoothed rock but seem to have encountered some sort of catastrophe in the past in which they were broken into pieces and I’m astonished more and more with the ancient history that once was here in America.

Thanks for showing us and taking us there Hugh! I really want to explore that entire area! Maybe you could check out the strange rock formations along the shores of pyramid lake. I've only seen them from google sky map. Great video and research. Those nevada and ireland petros can't be coincidental, they were identical which means what....?!? Also, you always hear about the red haired giants well Ireland is known for people having beautiful natural red hair today! Just trying to connect the dots!

I always enjoy these videos. I have a suggestion about one of the images shown by JJ. Where she shoes the vertical row of squares that turns and angles up the left side of a huge rounded stone, with a "leaf" or "tree" pattern, that she feels may relate to harvest time, I was puzzled. To me, it was clearly a giant skull, the squares are exposed teeth, angling around the side of the cheek, with the overall shape of the stone reminiscent of Olmec heads, ( even tho I've never heard of ab Olmec head in the shape of a skull.)

I can’t remember the name of the glyphs but they were in Valley of Fire, Nevada.
They were easily 70 feet off the surface at the time went. I can imagine they were at ground level when created, then erosion went to work. Nearby are petrified logs. I bet there are many more under the surface. What I was seeing was through the natural process was one environment being cleared and another much older one being revealed. How old is the debate.

It seems pretty clear that a lot of the rocks are 'fallen over and fractured'. It would be an amazing thing to see a 3d reconstruction of what they could have been like. Standing tall like towers the rocks themselves might be the original Giants of Legend standing tall out of evaporating waters.

Petroglyphs in tufa need to be larger than in a tighter-grained, harder, denser stone, but what strikes me is that the pieces at Winnemucca appear separated; more like a gigantic statue or frieze that has fallen apart, rather than a haphazard array of different designs on boulders that were close together. The Cup Marks look remarkably like an attempt to portray surface texture on part of a larger picture - and even the diamonds look more like a portrayal of scales on a surface. Are we missing a bigger picture - ie a larger statuesque piece that has come apart?
