Women often experience heart symptoms differently than men. Stanford Medicine faculty use advanced diagnostics to pinpoint the source of symptoms. We routinely offer additional testing to detect common causes of chest pain in women.

Our doctors also specialize in treating atypical heart attacks. Women may experience a heart attack without blocked arteries. Some people have the opposite, 100% blocked arteries, called chronic occlusions.

Listen to Dr. Jennifer Tremmel, director of Women’s Heart Health and the Chronic Total Occlusion Program, discuss the advanced heart care provided at Stanford Health Care.
