Stuff that can’t quite show up with these stills are (1) compression (cuz YouTube), and (2) motion (obviously). I dunno, for me, seeing this on 4K was a revelation. It was a cavalcade of subtle differences, the increase in depth and texture, all of it made for an incredibly immersive experience.

Criterion came out swinging on this one and hit a grand slam! Looks nothing short of beautiful! For newer movies, it's one of the best 4K releases that I have seen.

How does atmos do much to help with dialouge when dialouge is only coming from center channel?

Hey Jeff how’s it going Buddy! I have bought this 4K Criterion version of Uncut Gems I haven’t yet seen Uncut Gems on 4K but I have seen the regular Blu-ray of Uncut Gems. Definitely a great film my favorite Adam Sandler film. Thanks Jeff for the review can’t wait to see this film in 4K.

Really glad they didn't do the Citizen Kane type packaging. Was really disappointed in that packaging. But this release was fantastic!

Got this 50% off at Barnes and noble. I definitely liked Menace 2 Society 4k more. That was a huge upgrade.

I think sometimes the colours can get a little over bright in HDR (I notice it more often in videos games than movies though). Maybe that’s what they were trying to avoid that here.

If anything this just shows how good of a release that blu-ray was which is rarely the case. In person I'd guess the differences are easier to spot.

One big reason I upgraded to the criterion 4K from the blu ray was Dolby atmos on the criterion. The blu ray is DTS only so if you have a Sonos arc it plays in stereo.

I've never seen this movie so therefor never owned the blu ray. I bought this about 2 weeks ago based on the packaging alone and watched it when it arrived. It was surprisingly decent! But again, I'm in love with the packaging more than anything lol. This and the American psycho steelbook are probably my favorite pieces in my small collection. I might even throw the Roger rabbit steel in there. That looks pretty good as well

Im a 4k and criterion fan and but this is one of those times I will go with the Blu ray especially at $6.99. Unless this is one of your favorite movies and you must have it, that blu is a fantastic transfer..

They did release it on 4K but only in digital like voodoo or Google Play but that's it. Not physically though you are correct
