You gotta excuse them, they're busy writing another Windows GUI framework. Can never have enough. I heard they're naming it UWPF UI.

The RC does support iOS, what does not support iOS yet is Visual Studio for MAC, those are 2 total different things, especially considering that Visual Studio for MAC is still in middle of their re-write process. This has been known for a while. They had mentioned multiple times in the past that for a while VS for MAC would not support MAUI

I wish I didn't need Windows, Linux, and Mac but currently using 2 latops and I don't see that changing soon.

That’s it. I will use flutter for my next cross platform project.

Why confuse SDK and VS 4 Mac? Use dotnet cli on Mac...

It sounds like it is possible to even code in VS for Mac 😂 but it's just for easy install of SDKs and switching to Rider 🤔

It’s in GA and works pretty well for the 1st release now. Give it a try! 😊

Microsoft just can't afford Apple's taxes...

Ah yes, apple fangirls angry at better performing Windows. This short is nothing more but an add for: Windows 11. Build dot net Maui cross platform to as much as web itself, your smart TV and smart watch in a stable and insanely fast manner. Everything is free! Try it now! Don't install your fangirl Mac software, use the software that is made for Windows. Enjoy having a build in Linux and Android environment right there build in! No need for emulators! Unless, you develop for Apple products that is. Because Apple just wants to make your life harder. So we can of course still develop for it with great performance! Just buy Apples 100 dollar dev account or buy a mac. Enjoy!!!

Cross platform GUI frameworks has been the bane of application development. Write once run everywhere has never worked without some serious compromises. I'm not impressed with the Maui demos. There's a ton of focus on Blazor with very little focus on native UIs. I can't see why developers would use MAUI to have their apps look and feel like a web spa.

Vs for Mac is nothing like vs for windows, I think eventually it will be equal in .net but not for a while…

As expected, Blazor is not working well on VS Code. No high expectation for Mauil.

You can use .Net Maui and VS for Mac via command line… but yeah it stinks. Been this way through the preview releases also.

Probably CrApple is making it difficult somehow. Shit hardware shit OS. I always love a good cry from an Apple fangirl 🤣🤣

They only show android and windows for multiple reasons.

For one, they are the most used. Maui is not out yet and they are working very hard to make it better. This means that they can't put all of their attention on Mac users. Most dot net devs are developing on windows, which for microsoft is easier to build for anyways as its their own OS. They know it inside out and have the most experience with it.

A Maui app does deploy on Mac and IOS, but in Maui it's just PC and phone, not Windows or Mac, or Android or IOS. The examples are made in Android and IOS because again, they are most used. The examples work for Mac and IOS just fine, thats the whole point of MAUI. If that's something you don't like then that's just spoiled behavior (IF that is the case).

Maui is not finished yet and releasing it on vs for Mac is harder than releasing it on Windows. The fact that you are angry is okay, but of course they are going to make the product work first, before they try to make it work on a second platform. It's like videogames these days. PC sometimes just has to wait for a bit while console just let's it rip. They are not going to hold back Windows devs just because they don't have much for vs on Mac yet. That's like saying that if you can't have it, they can't either even though they can. It will come to Mac, just a bit later then on Windows.

Deal with the fact that Microsoft, the owner of Windows, will make their platform work on the most used OS to current date, Windows.
O no, they support their own product first, who would have thought that they would pick the easiest to work on, more stable and more used platform. Just wait for a month or 3 and there will be more news, maybe even a release candidate. Maui itself is still in development. The devs have already stated that if Maui itself works, that they will port it to vs on Mac.

So the omg no Mac and IOS statement is very false on the whole deal for developing on multiple platforms. I have already used Maui to build for those platforms with great success (the Android and windows tutorial).

And for the whole VS Mac deal, please read the blog posts and keep an eye on the news. They already explained the situation in detail and you are reeking havoc merely out of the spoiled behavior of not having while someone else already does. It's okay to complain but know your facts before you do.

Mac? What's that? We've got no Macs at Microsoft.

Waiting and trusting Microsoft-MAUI just unnecessary. They spent. our time just for unattended product. Flutter is okay to start just in a week! Microsoft MAUI is ended for me ! Net6, Q1 22, Q2 22, still there is no stable and useful version. Enough.

I haven’t developed in Java for about 8 years now, but it still seems to be the best cross platform language for desktop apps.
