I hate the word "potential, " because it's meaningless. Zhaire will improve his game because he's physically and fundamentally sound. His left hand is a little weak when he dribbles, but his mechanics are fine going right, so you know it's just about getting in more reps. His shot is a little funny, mainly how the off-hand comes off the ball, but the form is not broken, so if he tweaks his release, he'll become a reliable mid-range shooter. Defensively he already looks good. Shamet is my dark horse. He's not flashy or athletic, but he has decent size and does everything well: shoots, dribbles, passes, and he flashed some good defense in summer league, albeit briefly. I see him in interviews with Zhaire, watching as almost all the questions go to Zhaire, but you see he's proud and waiting to show he's a baller. I expect Shamet to break into the starting rotation in the playoffs because he's an asset on offense and will prove not a liability on defense.
