It's like the fortune teller who tells you you're going to win the lottery and years later your still spending money on lottery tickets. You weren't betrayed, they told you exactly what you wanted to hear, and you ate it up.

Give the Devil his due. Donald Trump is practically the greatest conman to ever live. Possibly since Rasputin convinced the Czar of Russia that he had magical powers. So at least the greatest con job in MODERN history.
