A father and brother watch in horror as 20 year old jump right in from of them. Cruise ship in Cape Town runs in to container ship trying to dock in heavy winds.

He was a good friend of mine his name is Levion he was 20 and I just celebrated his 20th birthday with him at my parents house it’s really hard for me and my family right now. Levion was full of life and a great guy. I know he loved to drink but I don’t know what sent him over the edge. I have seen him do some crazy things that I thought disregarded his well being but never thought he would do this. The last update that I got from his parents was that they are using a nonprofit to try and find him after the Coast Guard called it quits. I know it would have to be beyond a miracle for him to be found as I believe that when he hit the water he went under the boat because the boat at the time was traveling around 28 kn on its way back from its voyage at 4:30 AM in the morning but I’m still holding on Hope as little as that may be.

Don, thank you for your empathy. We were onboard when the announcements were made by the captain about the man overboard situation and also when the Coast Guard arrived. We feel very sad for the family.

Very sad. Permanent consequence to a temporary situation. Whether due to depression or alcohol, seems to have been extremely impulsive. His life is over on this earth, now his family has to deal with the aftermath, loss and potential guilt the rest of theirs.😢🙏🙏🙏
