Yep, True Strike in PF2E also exists as a 1st level spell, but Time Sense is the best comparison if we're only looking at cantrips!

True strike still exists. It is essentially the same, giving you advantage for an action, but due to multiple attack penalty, is significantly better to use for a second attack

One thing that should be mentioned is that it is a STATUS bonus, meaning it can stack with circumstance bonuses from your striking feats, flat-footed, or frightened, not to mention equipment bonuses.

Plus it’s a Cantrip. Gunslingers and Fighters are very happy to access Time Sense. Like, if you have +4 ability, that’s a +12 to attack a Flat-Footed at Level 1, and with no special weapons.

PLUS, it works on Skill checks, which means demoralize from a rogue or outwit ranger would adore it, or you can boost Swashbuckler Panache chance or critical Overdrive with Inventor.

Just being able to give yourself a +1 status bonus unlimited times is unbelievably so much better than D&D True Strike. But also being able to use it for saves and utility as well just wow.

Oh hot dog that's a sweet cantrip! One action cantrips are busted in general but this is especially sweet. Funny that this is also on the occult spell list, as there aren't a lot of attacks they're going to want to use this on.

I preferred when True Strike gave you +20 to hit. Now that was *true* striking!

My guess is that True Strike's actual purpose is to be cast BEFORE combat as an opening buff, like for an ambush or when attempting a long-shot ranged attack that you need to roll high for. It's good for those clutch situations or to ensure a strong opening attack, less so for an unexpected encounter.

In our games we make true strike a bonus action and it no longer requires concentration. But it requires your attacking with a weapon. Great half caster option for caster subclasses

Time Sense also has the caveat for that +1 that it can only be used on things that require precise timing on the same turn you cast time sense

And you can only gain the bonus once per hour


Pf2e's true strike on the other hand grants dnd style advantage something that's much rarer in pf2e, ignores circumstance penalties to the roll, and ignores the flat check to target a creature that is concealed or hidden

Though that is all at the expenditure of a spell slot

In home games ive ran true strike two different ways. The first is it just becomes a bonus action to cast, simple as that. The second is it remains an action to cast but all attacks on the next turn have advantage. The second way is fun but became a bit too strong but the first was absolutely fine and worked well for a lock, wizard and bard ranger combo ive let it be changed for.

Imagine this being a tool for surprising the party where someone uses time sense and the DM says 'The planets will align in, 2 minutes 11 seconds.'

all I'm imaging now is some fighting learning time sense because his wizard friend told him he could hit better and then him just feeling like neo from the matrix as suddenly he knows what time it is, the position of the planets ect
