In this video, the installation specialists at Rostra Precision Controls outline the steps taken to install the backup camera at the rear of the 2012-2013 Toyota Camry. As well, we show you how to route the wiring harness to the front of the vehicle and connect the included touchscreen interface t-harness to the backside of the radio. By our third video, we will have installed our 250-8400 backup camera system which includes a CCD color camera, 30-foot wiring harness, and a touchscreen interface harness. These steps are very similar on the 2012-2013 Avalon, Corolla, Highlander, and Prius.

I found video very useful guide for installing a Smartcar RCS43M camera/sensor combo into 2008 Camry. Main challenge was the jump to connecting power for screen to back of radio without any guide on how to physically get radio out. I instead found it easier to pull out section of dash with cigarette lighter power sockets and connect power from the back of one of those.

It is very easy to take off the license plate lamp without taking off the shroud. That will save you a lot of trouble. I just tried.

The important step of routing the cable from the trunk to the inside of the camry is missing. Where exactly is the small gap?
