Everyone's first DIY car mod should be getting a cheap "beater" 💩 box to modify. I recommend pre 2000 that's not Nissan. Save for the B13 Sentra... Unless you have a reasonable skill set, modifying your daily driver leads to *bad* things.
You: I'm going to do a quick release front bumper today!
Life: Nahh, You need toilet paper and you're out of dirty socks...
You: 💩 ....
*bumper falls off on the freeway and devoured under car... Bumper catches fire from exhaust. Car burns to ashes.*
Life: GOTIEM! HA! GOTIEM!

some diy projects, i wonder why more people don't do. for example, i made some BN Sports-style side skirts (not side splitters, actual side skirts) for my accord last weekend, and they came out amazing! i spent probably $60 on materials, most things considered. i had to pretty much just buy the aluminum gutters and the wrap, which were $15 each and $30 respectively. with a clean enough design, sturdy mounting, and enough patience, making a lip kit from scratch can be well worth the $100s that would have been spent otherwise (modulo side skirts are $160 by themselves). i'm currently working on a rear lip made from a 6" x 4" x 10' L-bend gutter, or whatever they're called. making a rear lip is much more tedious than side skirts, as you could imagine. i have already done both projects before with vinyl gutters, though. so yeah, just throwing this out there.

I can totally get down with working on my car. Most of this stuff I’d probably go to a professional though.
