I've always had a lot of fun building decks, and I've built my fair share of good decks that brought me to champion and also troll decks like lavahound graveyard that I ended up playing because I was bored and wanted to just mess around and have fun, looking back at it and watching this video has really helped me realise that I actually end up doing a lot of the things that you mentioned and I think it's really helpful that a top player would explain some of the more in depth parts of deck building :)

Valk, mini pekka, evo goblin barrel, prince, musketeer, barb barrel, goblin gang.

I’ve always played with this deck that I tweak around from time to time.

Evo Mortar, Knight (don’t have double evo yet), Magic Archer, Guards, Mini Pekka, Dart Goblin, Log and Snowball.

I’m not the best player in the world, but I have a lot of success against some decks that everyone plays like Hog 2.6, Log Bait, and Lumberloon. I always feel like I could’ve done better rather than “this deck hard counters me too hard, ” and that’s what makes it fun for me.

I made myself a own deck, that worked rly well and i got to ultimate champion with it. To be fair i got that far thx to it senergizing rly well with dagger dutchess. It was at the time when she was meta, but i was able to defeat almost every type of deck. Got to ultimate champion with 85% wr. That was my best performance i ever had in a season. Getting ultimate champion for 1st time, with my own deck, and with a high winrate

This beatdown split-lane deck is really fun to play. Simply spam pumps and defend everything with Valkarie, Archers and Goblins, then at 1:00, split 3M in the back, play the Recruits infront of those, and the opponent better pray they have Executioner or Bowler, or that's a free 3-crown

1) Lumberjack, balloon, freeze, goblin gang, dart goblin, evolved firecracker, bowler and prince

2) Knight, musketeer, goblin demolisher, graveyard, evolved morter, skeleton, arrows and snowball

3) Mega knight, miner, dart goblin, bats, zap, evolved wall breakers, magic archer and prince

My first selv made deck (which i adapted over time when unlocking new arenas and new cards) was a deck with 2 cheap spells and 5 defensive 4 to 5 elexir troop cards and a cheap 1 to 2 elexir card like goblins or spear goblins. My strategy was always to defend the enemy push and then let my cards that survived the wave of enemy troops deal some damage on the enemy tower and if my survivor cards didn't had 1 pixel HP i added a lumberjack or valkyrie in front of the witch or magic archer to make a little and cheap counter attack. I also used spear goblins for some little tower damage when my elexir was almost 10 and the opponent didn't placed anything yet.

I am a hog eq main, but I found that I really liked the aggressive nature of cards such as the Pekka, and it always felt satisfying to land a good hit on the opponent’s tower with it. So I started playing Pekka bridgespam, but too often I find that I would be too worried about defending the opponent’s counter push to go in aggressively like the deck is meant to be played. So I took my cycle knowledge as well as my liking for the Pekka and made a Pekka control deck. It’s a mix of bridgespam, cycle, and control, and it’s honestly very fun if you like control decks. I use the Pekka, ram rider (or evo battle ram), royal ghost, ice wizard, goblins, electro spirit, tornado, and zap. Optimally, it would be played with both the evo zap and evo Pekka, but I don’t have the evo Pekka. Still a very fun deck for me.

This video has inspired me to play after about two years of not playing. A video for returning players who are experienced but not so up to date anymore would be cool but I’m not sure how many people are like me and would like that kind of video.
