How to Draw a Foul

All perimeter water polo players must know how to draw a foul. Not only does it allow you to have a free pass but it stops the clock, which saves your team valuable time during a possession. In this video we cover the basics to drawing a foul for a Utility Player. We go over the main steps including going up and in, pushing into the defender, and pushing the ball in the water. What if I can’t back up away from the person who is guarding me because they are a lot stronger then me and most of the time drown me? Would I just let go of the ball at that point to call the foul?
