The eu is facing a perfect storm of existential threats. Global warming, covid pandemic, economic crash, brexit and threats from both the Chinese and the Russians. If the heat waves continue, crop production will be reduced, particularly if the heat produces a large number of violent thunderstorms. The heat will further reduce tourism already suffering a reduction due to the pandemic. The lack of social distancing in the hot weather with further aid the spread of the virus.
