I honestly see this as a great vehicle and not a day goes by when I don't see this car on the road.

One major problem with taking this car in the desert (and when I say desert, I mean the actual desert with sand dunes not flat dirt roads near highways): the car only has ONE tow ring in the back and the ones in the front are plastic. This is important because the front of the vehicle where the engine is located is heavier and some times if the car is stuck in the desert, it needs to be towed from the front.

Chinese carmaker Chery, perhaps best known for their Matiz-aping QQ minicar, has decided to cut the middleman from the process of designing cars that look like existing cars and went ahead and hired a designer from a company well-known for design, Porsche.

The designer,  Hakan Saracoglu, previously worked at Ford, where he was on the Mondeo and Focus projects, and while at Porsche Saracoglu had a hand in the design of the 918 Spyder,  Boxster, and Cayman. Not a bad resumé at all. Saracoglu is a graduate of ArtCenter in Pasadena, CA, one of the best-regarded auto design schools in the world.

The devil is in the details though… let’s see how it hold’s up with its after sales service etc.. looks wise, it looks like a defender, duster, pajero.. all rolled into one.. not sure.. if performance is a mixed bag too…. Nice sweet review
