Columnist Bobby Ghosh makes us his childhood classic coffee brew: The Indian Cappuccino. Instant coffee has become very trendy, but Bobby shows us that it's always been around, and his favorite version is Nescafé. Silicon Valley has nothing on this delicious and affordable cup of coffee.

Oh hey, that's how I was making coffee in my twenties:) Nowadays, I skip sugar and instead add a teaspoon of condensed milk (the thick kind). Better than any coffeeshop syrup;]

Very true. I couldn't be bothered to get into anything outside of instant coffee after I figured out my favourite way of making it.
I make a paste out of 2 teaspoons of instant coffee, a bit of cinnamon or black pepper ( optional), a teaspoon of coconut sugar, a pinch of salt and...a teaspoon of organic coconut oil.
Add a bit of warm water. All that into a Mason Jar. Shake the mix. Add that whole thing to a cup of milk of your choice. Done.

Thank you sir for sharing this. You’re very correct as I have drank instant my entire life and I’m always looking for new ways to improve instant coffee. I am Indian as well. I live in USA and I agree that Nescafé is the best sir. Thank you for this idea. Could you share any ways to get the most caffeine from your instant coffee as possible?

I agree. I have all kinds of fancy coffee makers( Nespresso) machines at home.
I’m tired of Starbucks, etc. The best coffee I ever had was when I visited my aunt( originally from Czech) in Israel and she
made my first Ice Coffee, which was from
Instant coffee ( probably Nescafé).
Thanks for the refresher course!

If you don't wanna add a lot of sugar you can take lots of coffee powder add it to one tbsp sugar and then whip it and Store the mix in fridge for further cups

Try mixing the instant coffee in a bit of cold water before you add the boiling liquid. Trust me you will notice the difference in coffee flavor

I've been loving a brand of instant coffee called Narasus. Great flavor of south Indian coffee.

A job I had brought me over seas to different places in europe. Most of the coffee I had was instant and I don't know what they did to it but it was really good and all I added was sugar like I normally drink back home in the states just black coffee and sugar. I'm sure it was the same stuff you used on video.

My Grandfather was a Trucker
and he drank instant Coffee for Decades.
His Technique was similar to this one except he used granulated Brown Sugar and regular Hot Tea instead of water.
