KlimaExpo.NRW for COP23: Exemplary energy project 'InnovationCity Ruhr'

In the InnovationCity Ruhr | Model City Bottrop work has been in progress since 2010 on developing innovative ideas and solutions to meet the challenges of climate and structural change in the urban situation. Born of an idea from Initiativkreis Ruhr, "Laboratory Bottrop" is being used to demonstrate how climate-friendly urban redevelopment can also safeguard industrial operations. Specifically the intention is to halve CO2 emissions and enhance the quality of life. In this project Innovation City Management GmbH is working hand in hand with all the relevant players from town planning, politics, industry and science and it has to date managed to initiate and sometimes already complete more than 200 individual projects.
