I played this many times (trumpet) in The Combermere School Cadet Band. Such a beautiful melody.

I've played this many, many times (euphonium) as a casual bandsman in the military, it's one of the most enduring memories in my life. Thank you Grenadier Guards, and Some folk.

A few years ago we were in Athens outside the Presidential Palace with its bizarrely dressed guards and their sloppy drill. The our guide asked me if our Queen's Guards were as smart as they were, I did struggle to answer LOL.

I learnt just today that this is called "Scipio".
Have heard police and military bands play it several times, especially when a dignitary inspects the guard of honour.
Truly! we learn something new each day.

*When a line of the Queen's own, * comes toward you. *Proudly rockin those Bearskin Hats, * and *wearing those red tunics, * either *your heart swells with pride, * or *you totally freak out!*

Thanks so much for this grand march of Handel and the fine scenes of the Grenadier Guards.
I would like to add that this music had words added by William Cowper, the famous 18th century poet, titled The Loss of the Royal George, with the words, --Toll for the brave, the brave that are no more-- etc. to honor the memory of those lost in the accidental sinking of the 100 gun ship Royal George in 1782 with the loss of 900 lives and the heroic Admiral Richard Kempenfelt.
I was shocked to find the only version of the song was by an American, a Mr. Mackey, who sang it with a British flag behind him on YT under Toll for the Brave. That was to his credit. No Briton sings it in a video !
Thank you again and best wishes.
