In this #Shorts I'll answer the question, Ham - Can I Freeze It?

I'll show you how to freeze, store and then use your Ham so you can avoid it ever going to waste!

So, Ham - Can I Freeze It? ❤️

👍 Yes you can (although if it is shop-bought rather than home-cooked then it is always a good idea to check directly with the producer first!)

🍕 I personally like tearing up the slices into ready-to-use pieces, although this can be done after freezing if the slices aren't too thick. By freezing in slices you do have greater choice though over how you use your ham. I recommend wrapping in foil as well as storing in a freezer bag to provide an extra layer of protection against the cold.

🥪 If preferred you can also use your ham slices to make sandwiches and freeze these (just be sure to leave out the salad)

💧 If you want to eat your ham cold, simply thaw it in the fridge and use a little kitchen paper to dab away any excess moisture on it

🔥 If you are using your ham in a cooked dish you need to make sure it is piping hot throughout before serving, so for dishes such as omelettes I would always recommend adding it to the pan first and using a food probe thermometer to make sure it's hit a safe temperature.

🥶 It is worth noting that slices and cubes of ham can become freezer-burnt (dehydrated) very quickly, so it's not something you're going to want to keep in your freezer for long.

📆 Frozen ham slices and pieces are best used within a month or so. They may be fine to eat after this, but the quality will deteriorate and it can become quite unappetising! If it smells or tastes strange better to bin it than risk it!
